Why Are ZEN's Contracted Partners So Profitable?

The ZEN Way

Let's start with the results. When ZEN delivers your order of HVAC duct work to the construction site, which of the following bullets is sure to be true?

  • No field measuring or field layout.
  • Optimized field labor (your least experienced crew can handle the job).
  • Your PM, Superintendent, or Foreman gain time to manage additional projects.
  • The ZEN Way delivers real cost savings between 25% and 35%.

With The ZEN Way and following our coordination process, ALL the statements above have been field verified.

At ZEN Industries, we see our contracted partners dominating their marketplaces. That's why we say The ZEN Way can save you up to 35% and is a 100% better process.

Do You Want the Same Competitive Advantage?

In traditional on-site duct installation, field measuring and sketching labor (FMSL) is required to assure proper unit connections and complete duct runs, accounting for obstructions, elevations, area measurements, fittings and figure lengths, etc.

More importantly, FMSL is usually performed by experienced foremen or project managers at a cost between $40 to $60 per hour.

With The ZEN Way, we take this tedious and expensive onsite work and deal with it in 3D. Using our advanced Coordination Drawing and Shop Drawing capability, we build out the entire duct installation in a highly precise virtual model.

What does that mean when the duct arrives on-site? It means everything is numbered, like a perfectly engineered puzzle piece. But unlike puzzles, we clearly number where everything goes!

Most importantly, you've saved potentially hundreds of hours of FMSL!

Save on Installation Labor Too

The traditional "pile of duct" delivered on site also takes some experienced installers to shake out. We typically see $25 to $35 per hour installers manhandling what can be an uncertain jumble of parts into place.

With The ZEN Way, all duct and fittings are numbered, allowing you to use less expensive labor and get shakeout done. That means $15/hour labor can handle what used to be accomplished at almost twice the cost.

At this point, between reduced FMSL and installation labor, you've saved up to 25% of the costs over the old-fashioned rigors of field measuring and sketching and installing imprecise and unlabeled duct.

Additional Savings Come from Unexpected Angles

At ZEN Industries, we’ve seen that The ZEN Way lends itself to savings and unforeseen advantages from beginning to end. Examples include:

  • Up to 15% lower fabrication costs for duct over the initial bid price. This is because our coordination and building information models are so precise we can optimize the number of standard lengths of duct and minimize the total number of joints and fittings.
  • We can provide for a proactive delivery schedule, with full truck loads assigned to pre-planned project zones. You get what you need where you need it to keep your crews “hanging and banging.”
  • Make the most of experienced managers and labor. Your high-cost, experienced labor is one of your most valuable assets - put it to use by managing additional projects, solving difficult issues, and bringing in more work to make your company grow.
